Mini burgers, but are they mini taste?

Another new item at Trader Joes! mini burgers! I’m a huge white castle fan and was so excited to try these. Was hoping they’d be a healthier version or white castle, or at least taste like one. These were the new item that had me running to the store, and had a huge dent in supply! Other must have been as excited as me! but do they live up to it? easy, fast sliders that can rival white castle? Lets take a deep dive in.

Mini burgers nutrition and how to cook

A little on the high calorie side, but if your having one with some veggies a pretty good balance! Can have a small burger already portioned for you. Id say there good for a party, but at over a dollar a pop not really the best appetizer to pass out, a little pricey for what you get. You can cook them in the oven or go the white castle route–microwave! Usually I don’t but for mini burgers its the way 🙂 I cooked all three and must say, 1:20 did not even get them warm. Burgers were still frozen and I have a strong microwave! I did 2:20 and they cooked, 2 might be the sweet spot.

Before and…..after :/

Starting off iffy, they were all connected when I opened the pack. Like one giant log burger–small but something to note. White castle at home you breakout then plastic and cook in it so they steam, these said to wrap in a wet paper towel. Worked for cooking, but the unveiling was sad sad sad. Half the cheese stuck to the paper towel, using them to microwave is not a great idea. Does the job but just so messy.

But how are they!

There……ok. Not bad but not great– perfect in-between. Its three small burgers and for the price I expected more, had high hopes for these. Might be why I’m judging so harsh, they did not live up to expectations. 6/10 to me, taste is ok but not great, size is small for the price, cooking them even in the microwave is messy. You can try them but don’t expect too much, don’t think Ill be buying them again. Better luck next time Trader Joes! Maybe to a microwave in package burger.
