Fall is a (mac and cheese) ball!

Fall everything continues, and up this time is the butternut squash mac and cheese bites! The butternut squash mac and cheese is a fan favorite and rightfully so! Its amazing! But how does the ball version compare? If it that amazing goodness fried in a bite size snack, or does it somehow fall flat? Not many reviews for these bites out and had to give them a shot!

How to and nutrition

The box is cute and nutrition wise there not bad! For fried mac and cheese balls that is, cant expect greatness. While heavy on saturated fat overall not a bad spread percent wise for such a fun rich snack. For a frozen appetizer its pretty good! You can use the oven or air fryer, and I opted for the air fryer here. Just makes sense for a fried snack to get it as close to perfect as possible<3 Give them the best chance at that crunch!

Frozen to ready!

Beyond easy to prepare! Just take out the number you want, about 10 come per pack, and set them on you air fryer tray. Preheat to 400 for a few minuets, cook for 8-10, and your all set! Definitely let them cool before trying, even when the outside seems cool the inside is cheesy goodness of doom! They look close to the same frozen and cooked, it’s not till you bite in that you get any idea what’s coming.

Looks so cheesy! But….

There only ok 🙁 Was hoping with how great the butternut squash mac and cheese is that these would be amazing–got my hopes too high! It almost dulls the flavor somehow rather then enhance. They need more seasoning or pop, a little bland and for a mac and cheese fried ball expect way more. Not really a fan and sadly give these a 6/10. Likely wont be getting them again—but the butternut squash mac and cheese is a winner! Guess they can’t all be.
