Grilling season, toppings make the game!
Looooveeee grilling! Its fun, healthyish, gets you outside–everything great! My son loves to play in the dirt or throw pokeballs all over the place while we make so yummy food that he actually eats. There’s also endless options for marinades, toppings, prepping–can customize your food so many ways. Just got in the first grill of the season and kept it pretty basic, and its was perfection.
First grill is go!
Little guy wanted hotdogs and that traditional grill food was a perfect start for the year! Grabbed some fun toppings and companions and we were off! Teeny tiny anything is always great, like love all of those products! These potatoes wont take long on the grill and are so cute! Shishito peppers are a go to even pan cooked here, and tossed them with some mushrooms for the veggie side. Was dying to try the dill pickle mustard from Trader Joe’s and this was the perfect reason too! And crispy jalapeno pieces just seem like a great pair for it <3
Get your grill on
Made a few packets for this! Potatoes got tossed with some olive oil, salt/pepper/ranch seasoning and sealed up, took around 30 minuets to cook through. Peppers and mushrooms received the same treatment for seasoning and took around 20 minuets to be perfect. Also added a little corn since this is a BBQ, and the hotdogs barley took any time to be ready. Preheating almost takes as long as cooking for these bad boys!
Once again for the finished look
Everything was so good! Added another sprinkle of ranch the the vegies and dipped the potatoes in the mustard sometimes. This mustard is amazing!! Thought Id love it but not this much! 10/10, its great flavor and just has that extra kick! Perfect for hotdogs, dipping for potatoes/fries, and on a pretzel would be insane! The ranch added a cool flavor kick to the veggies which was nice. Like it a lot and love how simple it is to add a little or a lot, 8/10 for that. Crispy jalapeno pieces are pretty damn good too! Like adding crunchy chips with a kick! 7/10 as I expected more, but liked them and the crisp made the hotdog even better.
