Cake Decorating with Your Little Sous Chef
Sometimes decorating a cake is the best part<3 Wanted to try Trader Joe’s new lemon sheet cake but alas, it was sold out. Settled for the vanilla, grabbed some frozen berries, and some amazing cookies to fun it up! Little loves coloring so figured he’d have a ball decorating this, and he did. Great activity especially with mothers day around the corner, no prep and just fun together.
“Ingredients”
If you want to call them that! Its really just like a arts and craft project, and feel free to use whatever you like! Wanted to try the pink and whites and they did not let me down. LOVE these cookies and box is about half way gone already. Very cherry berry blend is my favorite, all the best berries and no strawberries (little is allergic) which is hard to find. wanted the lemon but vanilla was good too. Removed half the frosting as its a lot and heavy tasting, half was perfect<3 Could add sprinkles, chocolate, anything your heart desires!
Someone had a ball!
SO much fun, and he did an amazing job 🙂 Added cookies first, then dumped the berries which actually stayed pretty clean, and more cookies. Once he tasted one decided it needed more, they are so good! I prepped by making bowls of each so he wouldn’t have access to everything, and refilled as needed. Berries only need to be out for about 30 minuets to defrost and be ready to go. Only took around 10 minuets but was fun and cute.
Finished masterpiece
Some of the cookies even have little bites taken lol! But its actually pretty nice, and extra special because he made it<3 The cookies added a great crunch and taste with the cake too! Definitely recommend topping these sheet cakes with them if you want to kick it up, not just for looks but taste as well. One day ill get the lemon (hopefully) and till then this was so fun and yummy. Cake cheers for new activities with your littles!
