Do these ravioli’s deserve the burrata name?
Trader Joe’s has so many different ravioli with new ones coming out each season. Do these ravioli’s deserve the burrata name? I’m Italian and love a classic cheese ravioli, and this seems like a twist on that. Burrata is just another cheese (an amazing one!) and tomato inside as well is intriguing. Had to give them a try and see if the flavor was there.
Nutrition and what’s inside
Painful thing with Trader Joe’s ravioli is the serving size, so small! For cheesy pasta expect high calories, but just want a good amount, would rather the box be two servings and 1/2 more of nutrition. Definitely ate half the box and wanted to keep going. Since there’s tomato inside wanted to keep it light, did olive oil, fresh tomato’s, and parmesan on top. Really let the inside flavor shine! They look beautiful and you can see both the tomato and burrata, was really excited to dig in.
On a scale of 1 to 10……
I’d give them a solid 7. The taste is there but not as fresh as Id like. These are refrigerated and not frozen so expected a fresh pasta with fresher filling. It had a little of a fake taste to it to me :/ They were different and had enough flavor to not need any toppings at all. You really could cook and eat these as is! But just not as fresh as I hoped. Trader Joe’s has so many ravioli flavors out there, I wouldn’t really try this one unless you like to collect them all. Not too special but also not bad, an ok dish in my eyes.
