Fish tartelettes? This could go so many ways
Got a little scared when I really looked at these, says cod right on the front but somehow it didn’t click. Cod-custard-tarts. Those words just don’t seem right together! But the picture looked amazing and I know people loved the custard tarts, had to give them a try. What’s the worst that could happen? Already had them in the freezer and who knows–maybe they’d be amazing.
Nutrition and cooking
These are heavy! Little cute tarts packing that saturated fat! Just from that get the feeling they’ll be really rich, but will that be a good or bad thing? For cooking I went with oven, love using my air fryer but cod custard tarts is already risky enough. Can’t use a newer cooking method as well, playing this one as safe as possible to give it the best overall review. Give it the best chance to show its stuff. Cooling time is 15 minuets which seems like a lot, but thinking the custard needs to set.
Look at these cuties!
Ok, they look so cute! Frozen and cooked! They come in adorable little pie tins, and once baked look like pie perfection. Golden crust, little gold on top, and a gooey center that oozes out just a bit. Now for the taste—there good! I’d have no idea cod was in these if it wasn’t on the box! Rich and almost like creamy cheese taste, not fishy or weird at all. They remind me of an hors d’oeuvre you’d have at a wedding, perfect to put out for any party. Very rich though and you only need 1 or 2. For that I give them a 7/10, great for parties but just for you a little heavy.
