Love is in the Pasta
Trader Joe’s Valentine heart shaped ravioli’s both look and taste great. Perfect for that little extra romance<3 Super simple to prepare and adds a little love to pasta night. If your staying in for the holiday these are great for a couples dinner, or to have watching a romcom by yourself, with friends, or with furbabies<3
A little heavy on the calories but there just so darn cute! Can over look it! An odd thing with the packaging is that it doesn’t peel off, usually a corner lifts and you can get into it. With these I needed to grab a scissor and slice my way in! Not a big deal but a little odd. All you need to do is bring a large pot of water to boil and cook for around 5 minuets. Use a big pot, give these babies room to breath and unstick. I also throw a little olive oil in with the salt to help keep them separate. Watch as they cook, if they go over some filling may escape! Drain and their ready to top and eat!
Look at that love potion bubble and boil! Worth noting to wait for the boil, I know its hard but better to be roaring before you put them in. I made a quick sauce that paired great with the flavor, just butter, lemon juice, garlic, and parsley. Did a quick melt in the microwave and tossed the raviolis in it once done. The lemon paired great with the filing and keep them light feeling, even though its a cheesy pasta dish.
So……are they tasty?
YES! The taste more gourmet then usual ravioli, and its not just mental base don how pretty they are. The cheese blend is standard but that reduction adds a unique taste. The inside almost taste like a sauce you’d eat on top of pasta, its more then a filling. A light sauce like I made or just some olive oil and lemon is perfect for this dish, red sauce or a cream would weigh them down and not let the inside flavor shine. 7/10, I wouldn’t eat them often but as a special pretty treat or themed meal are perfect. My TD is out of them now so hope you stocked up or get lucky!
