Red Curry Thai Noodles Review

These noodles from Trader Joe’s are fast to cook and have an amazing red curry flavor. Rivals an average Thai restaurant for a fraction of the price—curry sauce is that good!

They come in a big noodle bowl like most package noodles, but instead of dry you get a udon type noodle. These are thicker which is great to hold the sauce and have a nice flavor to them. We love cooking with udon type noodles in our house and it helps make these feel fancier than an average ramen type bowl. The sauce comes in a packet and unlike usual bowls you don’t add any water. Just open the noodles, pour the sauce, cover, and heat! Super easy and a good break from soup type bowls, more of a stand-alone noodle meal.

Once prepared you mix it up, and the sauce coats the noodles perfectly. You’ll find bamboo shoots and peas in the dish, but not that many and it kinda feels like they just threw them in. The bamboo shoots are a nice touch, but peas could have been replaced by a better fitting vegetable. The taste is amazing! Not too spicey but has that warmth red curry gives, the noodles are tasty, and the portion is big enough to fill you without any add ins or side dishes. The only negatives to this would be the second rate thought of veggies, and that it does make your microwave smell like curry. My husband used it next and got a big flavor punch to the face!

Nutrition wise its pretty good for a noodle bowl, 590mgs of sodium which is way less then the usual cup of noodles or instant ramen. 480 calories and 11g fats/7gs saturated fat is a little high, but as a stand-alone meal not bad. If your craving a red curry or instead of reaching for a cup of noodles this is a great product. 7/10 and think ill be buying it again 😊
